Security

An organization can choose to grant all employees access to all libraries and documents in SharePoint or to protect certain libraries from certain users.

There are two options.

  • Rights
  • Visibility

Rights can be granted to certain groups of users and completely protected from other groups. This is based on groups defined in active directory.

These rights can, for example, be enforced on quotations, projects, articles or contracts.

Alternatively, there is also the option to hide documents or libraries from certain specific groups of users. These libraries are then not visible to these groups, but remain accessible via a link or the underlying 'site content'.

Thanks to these security settings, end users only see those documents that they actually need in their role or position within the organization. At the same time, an organization can also ensure that only the right users have access to the right documents.
